The Mid Party advocates for a commonsense middle ground political party. The Mid Party’s goal is to preserve the ideals as set forth by the founding fathers and the US Constitution. Below is the position of the Mid Party on topics important to Americans today.

---

Immigration

• The Mid Party supports the idea that America should choose the immigrants they want to come to the country.  If there is a shortage of workers, the USA should determine how to address that shortage through legal immigration.  

• The Mid Party believes the most efficient way to address illegal immigration is to enforce penalties on any employer who hires illegal immigrants.

• The Mid Party supports the idea that undocumented immigrants have no legal right to medical care, education, housing, or financial assistance.

• The Mid Party supports rescinding Birthright Citizenship.

• The Mid Party supports English as the official language of the USA.

• The Mid Party supports an end to “Asylum shopping.”   No potential immigrant may seek asylum in the US if that immigrant is coming from a country that can also provide that asylum.  (Ex: An immigrant from South America cannot enter the USA from Mexico and ask for asylum if Mexico also offers Asylum.

The 2^nd Amendment

• The Mid Party supports the right to bear arms.

• The Mid Party believes in meaningful gun regulations.  These regulations should include background checks, requirements that all guns be kept under lock and key, and that the owner of a gun is legally responsible if their gun is used in a crime.  This would include mandatory jail time and fines.

• The Mid Party does not support the right to own assault rifles or other high capacity weapons.

Taxes & Federal Finances

• The Mid Party believes that the current national debt is a crisis that can only be corrected via changes to the tax code.

• The Mid Party supports a tax system where ALL individuals and companies pay taxes.  

• In recent years, between 20-25% of all Fortune 500 companies paid 0% in income tax.  60% of the largest companies paid less than 1.0%.  

• Between 2020-2024, Individuals paid 50-54% of the total taxes collected by the federal government.  During the same span, Corporations paid only 8-9% of the total taxes collected by the federal government.

• Billionaires paid an average income rate tax of 3.4%.

• The Mid Party supports the elimination of all tax loopholes and deductions for all Corporations.

• The Mid Party believes that capital gains should be taxed as income. 

• The Mid Party supports a tax system that is simple to understand and implement.    Individuals and companies should be taxed at flat, common sense percentages.  (Ex. 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%).

• The Mid Party believes that the introduction of AI technology into the workplace will result in a reduction of employees. As a result, the income tax revenue from those employees will fall to zero, or near-zero.  In order to compensate for the loss of tax revenue, the government may need to drastically increase the income tax rate on Corporations and billionaires.

• The Mid Party believes that anyone who defrauds the government should be charged with a felony and face mandatory jail time.

Living Wages

• The Mid Party supports a living wage.

• The federal minimum wage should be enough for an average, full-time employee to have a roof over their head, food on the table, and afford medical care.  Currently, a large percentage of people who work full-time also need federal aid/assistance. 

• Between 1975 and 2025, the following illustrates the increase in wages and costs. For example, Minimum Wage increased from $2.10 to $7.25 per hour between 1975 and 2025. This equates to a 240% increase. At the same time, Overall Wages increased 500-600%. Meanwhile, housing costs increased 700-800%. Medical Costs increased by 1,100-1,300%. College Tuition increased between 1,200 and 1,500 %.

• The Mid Party supports a new federal minimum wage of $20.00 per hour as of 2026.    The Mid Party supports tying future federal minimum wage increases to increases in government salaries, including congress salaries.  If government employees receive a raise, the minimum wage must go up by an equal percentage.

Healthcare

• The Mid Party supports a national medical system for all US Citizens.

• The Mid Party believes medicine should be between a doctor and a patient.  The Mid Party supports the elimination of the middlemen involved in the medical industry.  Insurance companies, billing companies, pharmacy benefit managers, and price gouging by pharmaceutical companies only increase the cost of medical care.

• Any medical entity, including hospitals and clinics, that claims non-profit status must provide complete transparency into the cost of medical services and how those costs were derived.

• The Mid Party supports the ability of the government to produce and sell common drugs at cost.

Housing

• The Mid Party believes that government should incentivize home builders and developers to construct smaller, more affordable housing.

• The Mid Party supports eliminating foreign purchases of all residential properties.

• The Mid Party believes that tax deductions for homeowners should only apply to one property.

• The Mid Party supports limiting rent increases on rental properties to the rate of inflation.
  

Government and Judicial Term Limits

• The Mid Party believes that members of congress and supreme court justices should have term limits.   Six years for representatives, twelve years for senators, and twenty years for supreme court justices.  

• The position of President of the United States should have an upper age limit. The Mid Party believes the maximum age for a president should be seventy, the cut-off to be determined by the candidate’s age as calculated on the date of inauguration.  

• The Mid Party believes that convicted felons and billionaires should not be eligible to serve as president or vice-president.

Congressional and Judicial Constraints

• The Mid Party supports banning members of the congress and the supreme court from owning stock while serving in their position.  This ban includes the President, Vice-President, and the cabinet.

• The Mid Party believes it should be illegal for any member of congress or the court to receive any money, or money equivalents, from companies, lobbyists, organizations or individuals.  This includes any financial compensation in the form of political donations, free travel, tickets to events, dinners, club memberships, etc. This ban includes the President, Vice-President, and the cabinet.

• The Mid Party also believes it should be illegal for any member of congress to accept any financial considerations from any constituent for four years after the end of their term. This ban includes the President, Vice-President, and the cabinet.

• The Mid Party believes that members of congress and the Supreme Court should have their salaries increased to $500,000 per year.   (Going forward, this amount cannot be increased without increasing the federal minimum wage by an equal percentage.)

Race, Gender, and Equity

• With regard to the issue of race, gender identity, and equity, the Mid Party supports equal rights for all.

• The Mid Party supports the right of individuals to identify as any gender. The Mid Party does not support this right for those under eighteen or those who are in still attending public schools, K-12.

• The Mid Party does not support the use of public restrooms as determined by gender identity. The Mid Party believes use of public bathrooms should be consistent with an individual’s biological sexual organs.

• The Mid Party does not support biological males competing against biological females in any sport, regardless of gender identity.

• The Mid Party supports meritocracy in regard to employment, advancement, and education. All individuals should be judged solely on their merits and abilities.
  

Abortion

• The Mid Party supports a woman’s right to choose.  If a pregnant woman is married, their spouse has the right to be involved in the decision.

Climate Change & Energy

• The Mid Party believes that solar energy is the best energy solution.   Currently, the sun provides the earth with 8,000 to 10,000 times more energy than humanity uses.

• The Mid Party believes the government should invest in the sciences that improve capturing, storing, and distributing solar energy capacity.

• The Mid Party also supports other renewable energy sources.

Education

• The Mid Party believes that administrative bloat and reliance on private student loans are the two main drivers of rising education cost.

• The Mid Party supports free tuition at public universities and trade schools for all US Citizens.

• The Mid Party supports zero interest loans from the government to attend any private university.

• Any university or trade school that receives federal funds must provide complete transparency into the cost calculations for all tuition and fees.
